ABOUT ME
Aaron Siskind, a well-known American abstract expressionist photographer in the 20th century, once said: “Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever. It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.” And it is in remembering that our psyche brings forth memories of time and place that rendered significance in our lives. It is in these memories that we keep our antecedence alive.
Alexander Yee already found his niche that is beyond his university double-degree and professional expertise. His chosen medium for his works, appeals to even the most scrutinizing eye.
His camera has flashed on numerous faces and events. His photographs present an opportunity to glimpse at the beauty of plain moments and capture the simplicity of grandiose imagery. His emphasis on lights and colors turns stills into a moving, pulsating, breathing works of art. But what makes Alex all the more worthy to be praised, along with his fellow Filipino artists in Bahrain, is his remarkable contribution to the immersion of the Philippine arts & culture in the region.
Alex has always been fascinated with the aesthetics of the arts. He believes, as a Libran, that it is easier for him to appreciate the beauty of audio and visual perspectives. "Nothing is more rewarding than that of making other people feel and share your passion from your masterpieces" according to him.
Through his photographs, the image of Filipino-Chinese artistry is captured forever. Thus the world remembers such little things, long after it has forgotten everything.
